I have a million pictures of this cute boy:
they are just piling up! Also, I have a billion cute stories and adorable things I want to remember so here we go!
Maddux has been extremely against potty training. I have been waiting for him to come around, but I am getting tired of waiting. I thought for sure that when my Mom bought him Lightening McQueen unders that would do the trick, but no luck. So I decided to try my mom's trick. With my little brother she started at 2 1/2 telling him that 3 year-olds can't wear diapers. She would tell him, "See it says right here on the box, 3 year olds can't wear diapers." and point to the box. Also, we all bought into it and backed her up. It worked like a charm. On Joey's 3rd birthday they switched to unders and he never had an accident.
I had been telling Maddux that for a few weeks and he seemed to be getting it and buying into it. We bought a new box of diapers so I showed him the box and told him, "See it says right here on the box, 3 year-olds can't wear diapers." Maddux watched me very intently and asked me, "What does it say?" and I told him. We did this 3 times, Maddux continued to study the box and then said, "But Mom where's the D for diapers?" (I had been pointing to SUPER ABSORBENT) I about fell over! My 2 year old just busted me lying :( I just moved the box out of the way and offered him a treat (A+ parenting again), but he accepted the the bribe and still tells me when I change his bum, "Mom, 3 year- olds don't wear diapers." So I guess maybe I didn't do too much damage.
